Recycled polyester is made from post consumer waste, such as PET plastic bottles that are usually incinerated or buried in the ground. From January to June 2022, a total of 1.628 million tons of domestic polyester filaments were exported, a slight decrease of 0.3% year-on-year. Among them, the export in the first quarter was 781,000 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 13.5% due to the high base last year; the export in the second quarter was 847,000 tons, a year-on-year increase of 16.1%, mainly due to the explosive growth of exports from May to June.
